WATER SPORTS

The Morbihan is an ideal centre for water-sports.

The Gulf of Morbihan offers all kinds of sailing experiences, as well as wind-surfing and skin-diving. The rugged coastline shelters numerous bays which make an ideal setting for water-based activities. Windsurfing is possible from many beaches, although it is subject to certain rules. Windsurfers can be hired at all the major beaches, as can boats, with or without a crew, in season.

The Roche-Bernard marina, know as "Port neuf" (new harbour), in the centre of the Vilaine, is a meeting place for ocean and river navigation. It has more than 400 moorings. The sailing school is a good place to learn water sports. It is the ideal venue for lovers of seafood and water sports!

Skin-diving is becoming increasingly popular in the area. The clear waters of the Gulf are rich in fish and marine plantlife, providing interest for underwater anglers and admirers of underwater landscapes alike. Sea-kayaks can sometimes be hired.
