GOLF
IN THE AREA
Golf
is growing at a faster rate in France than anywhere else in
the world with many excellent courses offering a warm welcome
to visitors. With elegant clubhouses and comparatively empty
courses (most of the members are still learning the game),
it represents a visiting golfer's paradise, especially with
green fees similar to those at home.
In
Brittany, the choice overall is both interesting and scenic rather
than truly demanding - the essence of holiday golf. Addicts will
find an amazing diversity of landscapes to give their game a
new sense of freedom. Seaside links, rolling inland courses,
grand panoramas in the countryside or regal clubs based around
a château Brittany goes out of its way to attract
the golfer.
Not
only the scenery but also the technical difficulty of the courses
varies too. Whether a novice or an expert, everyone will find
an opportunity to improve their handicap.
Visitors
to golf clubs in Brittany will find a warm and affable welcome.
On the fairway or in the calm of the clubhouse you will feel
at home. All year round a full range of facilities is available
at very inviting prices: courses, practice fairways, putting
greens, pitching greens, club houses and pro shops.

Our
nearest golf course, only 11 kilometres south-east of La
Roche-Bernard, La
Bretesche is
a magnificent course, and something of a legend in French
golf. The closing holes are particularly memorable.

One
of the best courses in Morbihan is Golf
de Saint-Laurent at Ploemel near CARNAC. Established in
1975, it is attractively laid out amongst oak, pine and chestnut
trees. Its broad, gently undulating fairways and well-kept greens
are sure to encourage your game.

Golf
de Baden,
fronting an estuary of the Bay of Morbihan, offers family
open golf until its newly-planted trees mature. Set in rolling
countryside and dotted with lakes, it is very demanding.
Beware of strategic water, which affects play on 9 of the
holes and concentrates the mind wonderfully.

The
International Barrière Golf Course at La
Baule is one of the leading courses in Europe. It is on
the edge of the Brière Regional Natural Park and close
to the sea. Nothing but lush grassland as far as the eye can
see.
There are in fact 3 exceptional courses located in natural parkland
that covers some 220 hectares!
The
