The apartment can be thought of as your very own "home" in France, and is thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need - including Broadband, if you want to bring your laptop. Used primarily by our family and friends, we offer any spare weeks to those wishing to experience the real France. Instead of a remote rural situation, far from shops, restaurants and beaches, this is a chance to stay where the French themselves choose to holiday!

In case you were wondering, French accommodation is generally cheaper than typical holiday accommodation in Britain, and the reason for this is simple – to keep costs down, you are required to do your own cleaning. All necessary cleaning materials are provided, and you must leave the apartment as you would like to find it yourself on arrival.

In La Roche-Bernard our guests do as they please and enjoy meeting friendly locals even if they have no French whatsoever. They shop at local markets and supermarkets where wonderful food and wine is available at amazingly low prices. Eating out is also a joy, and on your travels a five course meal can be had for as little as six pounds. This sometimes includes wine!

Staying chez nous but having your own facilities means you can prepare easy picnics and barbecues too. These can be enjoyed either in the garden or on the banks of the River Vilaine nearby, or even by the seaside which is only 10 minutes away, with lots of different coves and sandy beaches to choose from.
