Pénestin
The
nearest sandy beach is just ten minutes away - 15 kilometres
- and is the dramatic La Mine d'Or at Pénestin.
It gets its name from the cliffs which at sunset light up with
a wonderful golden glow. |

Baule
Apart
from the extensive beaches towards the Gulf
of Morbihan, which are covered in another section, the
coast from the Vilaine River to La
Baule (30 minutes from us) is, according to the Cadogan
Guide,
"major Breton beach tourist territory". |

There
are so many beaches along this particular stretch of coast that
you could spend several days exploring and only see a selection
of them. A good time to go to the beach is in the morning, as the
French rarely arrive in numbers until after lunch - and then only
in August.... |
