THE APARTMENT

The Accommodation

This spacious two-bedroomed apartment consists of the whole top floor of our traditional French house, specially designed and well-insulated for separate use when the house was built. It has its own outside entrance with steps and handrail.

South facing, with views of the River Vilaine, it has a large, bright and sunny living/dining room with kitchen. It is well-presented and comfortably furnished.

The two bedrooms are spacious, one with a king-size bed, the other with twin beds, conveniently on the same level as the WC and shower room.

Freshly-laundered bed-linen is provided, with either duvets or sheets and blankets and comfortable pillows.

The garden

Unusually for a first-floor apartment, you will have a private garden with outdoor furniture and barbecue. There are mature trees, including two lovely silver birch trees which complement the garden's white & silver theme.

There is also safe parking for your car.

Facilities

The lovely, light living room has views over the River Vilaine. It is a home-from-home, comfortably furnished with sofa and easy chairs, and large dining table and chairs.

Satellite TV, a good selection of videos plus radio/cassette/CD player are provided, along with a Broadband connection for your laptop.

Leading off the dining area is a well-equipped kitchen with dish-washer, fridge-freezer, full electric cooker, microwave, electric kettle, coffee filter machine, toaster etc..

The shower room and separate toilet has all the usual mod. cons. and lots of hot water. There is a washing machine, iron & ironing board too! Electric heating is available at cost during out-of-season colder spells.

In short, we've tried to think of everything you'd need!

Shopping

Five minutes' stroll and you are at the boulangerie clutching your crusty baguette and bag of buttery croissants.

Next door you'll find the Newsagent (English papers available), and nearby the butcher, fishmonger (seafood a local speciality, of course) and charcuterie - the self-caterer's temple! - with delicious cooked meats and dishes ready to eat. Buy your fruit in the street market from a superb selection.

The shopkeepers and assistants are all helpful and are used to pointings and nods! Or you could visit one of the two mini-supermarkets on foot. The local larger Champion is five minutes away by car.

The Thursday morning market in La Roche-Bernard is one of the highlights of the week, so cameras and shopping bags at the ready!
